Bernard Connolly is an artisan in the Pekuakamiulnuatsh community at Mashteuiatsh who has kept close contact with his culture and its traditions. Before being injured in a terrible accident that had serious consequences for his family, he spent more than six months each year living on his territory’s land with his wife. He makes snowshoes and wood furniture using traditional techniques for his own use as well as for sale. He has previously participated in several research projects connecting universities with native communities. The transmission of native traditions to the youth of his community is very important to him.
