Following ten years of activity in the fields of international volunteering and intercultural training, Béatrice Lecomte went back to school to become an archivist. She holds diplomas in history and in archives and records management from the Université du Québec à Montréal and is now a student in the Masters program at the Université de Montréal’s school of Library and Information Sciences. She is primarily interested in the preservation of audio-visual archives, the social role of the archivist, as well as the new dissemination possibilities introduced by digital technologies within this type of preservation. As part of the Tshiue-natuapahtetau / Kigibiwewidon project, she is working with the Native Museum of Mashteuiatsh on building a virtual library of interviews collected by the Museum. She is also involved in document management for the project as a whole.
