The Kitigan Zibi Anishinabeg Band Council is the official representative of the Kitigan Zibi Anishinabeg Band. The Council is made up of six Council members and one Chief, all of whom are elected in general elections. Three advisory boards are in place at Mashteuiatsh in order to foster reconciliation, knowledge sharing, intergenerational transmission, and consultation. The creation of these advisory boards helps move forward on the road to autonomy and toward a transition to an official governmental structure for the Pekuakamiulnuatsh.
